Student presentation on “home grow” rules in Ohio’s marijuana legalization regime
The third student presentation this week in the Marijuana Law and Policy seminar at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law will cover the always interesting issues surrounding “home grow” of marijuana. Here is how the student explained his topic along with lots of background reading:
I will go over everything an Ohio resident needs to know to ensure compliance with the state’s marijuana home grow laws. This includes compliance requirements, ways to violate the statute, and any loopholes. Since there is only one case (that I could find) analyzing Ohio’s home grow provisions, much of what I will talk about will be based on the statutory language post-SB 56
Background reading:
- SB 56, specifically Section 3796.04, but any ctlr+F for “homegrow” gives fun information
- DEPC materials, “Adult-Use Marijuana in Ohio: What You Need to Know”
- “A Q&A on Ohio Homegrown Cannabis“
- “Home Cannabis Cultivation” (this piece can help students understand all of the different potential policies that can be enacted for homegrow)
