Student presentation on evolving laws involving THC-infused beverages
My Marijuana Law and Policy seminar at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law continues with student presentations on the students’ selected research topics. Students provide here a brief summary and some background reading for their classmates about their planned presentation, and here is the first summary post with links for this coming week’s first presentation:
I will discuss the status of THC drinks pre- and post-SB 56, Ohio’s new cannabis law, and how federal rescheduling of cannabis might impact these beverages. I will also discuss the pros and cons of the regulate-like-alcohol framework, which appears to be a popular model amongst the alcohol industry. Now that we know the petition effort to have voters repeal parts of SB 56 has failed, I may also touch on the outlook specifically in Ohio (such as the gubernatorial candidates’ positions and Gov. DeWine’s stance).
